HPD Collaborative Supports the Implementation of the Principles for Chemical Ingredient Disclosure

The Health Product Declaration® (HPD) Open Standard provides a methodology for the complete disclosure of chemical ingredients and associated health information for building products. The HPD Collaborative and the HPD Open Standard fully support the Principles for Chemical Ingredient Disclosure. Manufacturers can report their products in full compliance with the Principles for Chemical Ingredient Disclosure using HPD reports. Additionally, by publishing an HPD report in the HPD Public Repository, manufacturers can provide free public access to these reports from the authoritative source for HPDs. The quality processes of the HPD Open Standard methodology, including the option for Third Party Verification, provide confidence for users of building products – architects, designers, contractor and building owners – in the accuracy, reliability and consistency of product information.  Using HPD reports, users can quickly assess compliance with the Principles and other selection criteria, enabling constructive dialogue with manufacturers about the content and health attributes of their products, and opportunities for improvement.
