Shari Franjevic’s commitment to holistic health has inspired her almost two decades of work supporting a market transition to replace toxic chemicals with safer alternatives.  She currently works at the Washington State Department of Ecology where she leads the implementation of the state’s Toxic-Free Cosmetics Act.  Prior to her current role, Shari served as GreenScreen Program Manager for the non-profit organization Clean Production Action (CPA), where she set the strategic direction for the GreenScreen Program, led the design and implementation of GreenScreen® chemical hazard assessment tools and GreenScreen Certified® product certification, and developed and delivered educational programs to build skills in conducting hazard assessments and selecting safer chemicals.  Shari has also worked in industry both as a consultant and chemical engineer.  As a consultant, she worked with NGO, government, and industry clients to develop strategies, tools, and training on chemical hazard and its value and use in advocacy, regulation, and safer product design. Shari started her career at Procter & Gamble, where she designed consumer products and manufacturing processes.
