Senior Scientist, Sustainability and Authenticity, Seventh Generation
Kay Gebhardt is currently the Senior Scientist in Sustainability and Authenticity at Seventh Generation. For more than a decade, she has championed sustainability and transparency in the home and personal care industry, advocating for healthy people, a sustainable environment and equitable communities. She is a member of the Seventh Generation Foundation Board of Directors, a physical chemist by training, and mother to 3 children who think she’s cool for trying to save the planet. In middle school, Kay won the science fair by demonstrating the environmental impact of burning fossil fuels on a small city she constructed in an aquarium. In the experiment, a poisonous cloud was created, all light was blocked and the tank blew up, thus greatly informing the work she does today.
